Jasper Morrison designed the innovative Vega chair and interconnected modular seating units for Artifort in 1997. The versatile series can be specified as a single chair, 2 seat and 3 seat sofa and is compatible with the functional Vega coffee table component. The rounded seating and back support areas are affixed to a strong, gracefully contoured tubular framework in polished chrome or optional Artifort powder coat. The Vega's design cannot be definitively placed into any, specific stylistic era. It's a whimsical amalgamation of vintage modern and pragmatic functionalism balanced by great aesthetics and utilitarian durability. Morrison's creation is a favorite of architects and designers and always makes a statement in commercial lobbies and reception areas.

Jasper Morrison (1959) studied at the Kingston Polytechnic Design School in London and the Royal College of Art for postgraduate studies. In 1986 he founded the Office for Design in London and has produced numerous, high quality industrial designs for Vitra, Cappellini and other prestigious international firms. Morrison is a prolific writer and design-oriented thinker and has created a broad range of functional industrial design items, including: tableware, electrical appliances, storage items, clocks, chairs, and sofas. Morrison created the adaptive Vega series of modular seating for Artifort in 1997.
